A disheartening read from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Foundation's Healthcare Crime Survey...
"Recent editions of the Crime Survey indicate that the simple assault rate has been increasing. From 2012 to 2019, it hovered around 10 incidents per 100 beds, but it has risen in each of the past three years and is now more than double that. Similarly, the disorderly conduct rate has trended upward. It has been above 52 incidents per 100 beds in each of the past two years (52.2 in the current report), and the only other year since 2012 that the rate reached 40 or above was 2018, when it was 45.2."
