Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) is a company diversity registration designated under the Veteran Benefits, Health Care, and Information Technology Act of 2006 (Public Law 109-461). Registration ensures that companies qualify for preferential procurement for federal contracts if they are owned and controlled by Veterans.
This certification is non-industry specific and requires that the firm meets the small business requirements established by the Small Business Administration (SBA). Additionally, it requires that the company is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a veteran.
When it comes to security and its perceived impact on productivity, there is a lot to consider. Security is often seen as a productivity delay. Workers are delayed at doorways while presenting badge credentials. Visitors are delayed in the lobby while entering information into the visitor management system. Deliveries are delayed at the entrance as the vehicle is inspected. In reality, security is there to enable a safe and productive workplace. But it doesn't have to be this way...
To accomplish this, yes, there must be electronic and physical devices in place. However before a single camera is installed or gate is mounted, the security management team must work together with executives, management, and workers to implement solutions that make sense to all stakeholders.
With input from all stakeholders, a security solution that makes sense can be implemented. And that input will lead to adoption of processes and procedures at all levels, rather than trying to find ways around them.
Maybe the answer is replacing card credentials with biometric readers. Perhaps it's replacing legacy visitor management systems with pre-registration capable systems. And, maybe, using LPR technology to automatically open perimeter gates when known vehicles approach.
Our team talks to our clients' stakeholders and recommends security and safety measures that enable a productive, safe, and secure workplace for all. Contact us at info@theseuspro.com to discuss your challenges.
