Proof of Concept Demonstration: Delivering on Client Expectations

Written by Theseus Team | Dec 19, 2023 1:15:00 PM

As consultants and subject matter experts in our field, it is our duty to work diligently on behalf of our clients, conducting thorough physical security risk assessments and designing effective safety and security solutions. Last week, we had an exciting opportunity to organize a proof of concept demonstration at a client facility that is currently being constructed.

The Objective

Our main objective for this demonstration was twofold.

Firstly, we wanted to collaborate with a security equipment manufacturer to determine if we could optimize our client's security camera requirements by using a specific type of camera in the facility's unique stairwells.

Secondly, we aimed to enhance surveillance in these areas while minimizing infrastructure and installation costs, thus providing an even more valuable design solution given the complexity and size of the stairwell environment.

Collaboration and Partnership for Success

The success of our efforts truly demonstrates the power of collaboration. Despite the challenges of conducting the proof of concept demonstration on an active construction site, effective coordination with our client representative and on-site construction personnel allowed us to safely set up and showcase the proposed security equipment.

The Outcome

Thanks to the manufacturer representative's successful proof of concept demonstration and our team's expertise, we can now proceed with developing and implementing an innovative and proven security camera solution. This solution will offer excellent resolution, reduce the number of cameras required, and ensure comprehensive coverage of the areas to be monitored. By understanding the capabilities of the proposed camera technology, we can avoid the need to add additional cameras after the facility's construction is complete.

Moreover, this optimized camera solution presents cost-saving opportunities. In addition to reducing the initial camera purchase costs, we can implement advanced AI-enabled video analytics that can detect unwanted behaviors such as loitering, as well as audio analytics that can identify and detect sounds such as screaming or gunshots if the client desires to do so now or in the future. Furthermore, by reducing the number of camera locations, we can help our client save on construction expenses related to wiring infrastructure.

Our expertise extends beyond this particular project, as we specialize in securing data center and healthcare facilities, along with other campus environments.
